Nega Scott is a major antagonist in Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim vs the World. The character first appears when the series' protagonist, Scott Pilgrim begins doubting himself and begins to run from his problems. Nega's eerie presence would often scare Scott whenever he was emotionally vunerable.
Nega's main objective is to destroy Scott. For this reason it is no surprise that his main hobby is to stalk and torment him. To an extent Nega represents an inner demon inside all of us, a message reminding us that it is the part of us immersed in doubt and descent that is most dangerous to us; and our surrounding environment's only power it to tamper it deleteriously.
Nega also made a brief appearance in the live action movie adaptation released in 2010. Played by Michael Cera, movie Nega appears when Scott realises his mistakes and is determined to fix them. They however soon realise they are incredibly similar while talking, leading to a strong and healthy relationship. This again serves as a reminder to one to embrace their flaws. It is no surprise then that O'Malley decided Nega's last action should be to remerge with a new and improved Scott
